Texas

Surprise! We went to Texas and pulled off probably our biggest surprise of the year.  Kristi, Ry, and I decided to not tell the girls that we were coming to Texas.  We spent all day Wednesday May 6 traveling, from SLC, to a layover in Denver (where we had some downtime and lunch), then to Texas where Kristi was waiting for us. We drove back to their home where Kristi went into the apartment to distract the girls.  As soon as we got the ok text we walked inside and sat on their couch.  Soon enough the girls walked out and when they saw us sitting their the screamed and started crying.  It honestly turned out better than we ever thought it would.
That night we hung out indulged in whataburger- a texas must.

Ry trying to take a nap in Denver and a quick selfie.

Standing outside the girls apartment waiting for the red flag.

The following day we headed to Houston where we went to the Zoo and ate dinner.

Cute fam pic before we melted. It. was. so. hot.

Feeding the giraffes!

The next day was a chill day hanging out at the local malls, eating cupcakes at Crave (aubrees place of work) relaxing at the apartment, and then going to see Avengers 2.

Found baby bullies at the mall.

Everyone in? CHEESE!

The next day we headed to Galveston for Ry to see the arm pit of beaches.  We had a great time hanging out together, checking out the local shops, and eating good food.  At night when it was time to go home we had a good laugh when I found a giant cockroach in the car, followed with a scream, and jumping out of the car while it was still in motion. I am not a fan of bugs! Kristi stopped the car and they searched for it but we never found it, we think it fell out of the car when Kristi got out.
(Update- 2 weeks later the cockroach made an appearance! He hid again and they still have not found it)

The best server we ever had was at this restaurant. To bad i can't remember what it was called.

Our last day in Texas was Mothers day, we sat Kristi down and gave her her presents that we all picked out together.  We bought her a couple of Alex and Ani bracelets so that she would have a set.  We then hung around town, went to the store for enchilada ingredients, then went home where I cooked some of my famous enchiladas, and watched a movie.

The trip was perfect and we were so sad when it ended.  The girls went to school Monday May 11.  We packed and Kristi took us to the airport where we found our flight had been delayed over an hour so we got to spend more time with kristi.

We miss those girls so much.  We had a great visit but hope we can see them again soon.
