I've always really loved Easter. Growing up my dad always hid eggs for us to find, sending not only the kids but mother dear as well outside to find them. It was never easy to find them but it was always so much fun. Miss never bought a lot of candy but rather small gifts like shoes or a new shirt to go in our Easter baskets. This year as I was preparing for Easter a lot of thoughts went through my mind on what to do. I evenutally decided I didnt want to do candy at all because I have no self control and I am in the process of trying to loss weight. Candy and weight loss are not best friends. I picked out a new shirt and necklace for myself and bought tickets to a Giants game and a new shirt for Ryan. I didnt buy any baskets because that would be one more thing we would have to lug back to Utah with us. I made a Happy Easter banner though and spread out some Easter grass on the counter for our gifts and it still looked really nice. As a new tradition we are doing the Easter bunny the saturday before Easter so that we can spend Easter sunday focusing on our Savior. I surprised Ryan with an egg hunt in the morning and had our gifts covered until he found all the eggs. It was so fun to see how excited he got when he realized I had bought him Baseball tickets. The game is in a week and we are both pretty excited to go. This will be our first Major League Baseball game. We both had to work Saturday but when I came home from work Ryan had hid a ton of eggs for me. It really meant the world to me because I was sad that I was missing Easter morning with my family. He told me he did his best to hide them in good spots so that it could kind of resemble an Easter with my dad. He warms my heart so much and I feel so grateful to be married to someone who cares about me so much. Ryans family never really made Easter a big deal like my family so its not a a holiday he really cares about or plans to do anything for. So it meant a lot that he put so much effort towards something like that for me. Unfortunately my no candy rule I hadnt told Ryan about and he filled all the eggs with candy plus my sweet mother in law sent us a big package of candy as well. I had to laugh and honestly I felt it was a sign that I was suppose to have candy this weekend. (: So... I caved and ate a ton of it. But its monday again and I am going to get back on my health streak.
We are so grateful for our kind mothers. Donna sent us a package of candy, as well as some lotions and a gift card. Miss sent us the one and only marshmallow guns. Something we told Ryan all about how awesome they were. So we were both really excited to get our own set and to have a war with the family when we go back. She sent Ry a new tie and myself some coral flip flops, little Cars characters and some candy as well. It meant a lot to us that they sent us such nice packages. It made us feel like we were back home with them. I love our mothers, I dont know what we would do without their love.
