Road trip

This road trip was hard to be excited for. It was estimated to be anywhere from 32 to 35 hours. We were very lucky and blessed that our employers are so good to us and gave us the appropriate funds to enjoy the trip as much as we could.

Day 1: was hard... Probably the worse of them all. I was up late crying about leaving. I woke up telling myself to keep it together... Instead I cried the whole time I was packing up the car and saying good bye to the family. We were leaving at 4:00am just like when we left for San Fran. But this time Roan actually woke up to say good bye. Which of course broke my heart. He is such a sweet kid. As we drove I probably cried to and through most of Wyoming before I was really able to pull it together. Ryan handles leaving a lot better than I do. It was for sure much harder than it was going to San Fran.  Our first stop was Cheyenne WY that is hill billy heaven!! WOWY! We went and saw Big Boy. The worlds largest steam engine. It was cool but mostly just nice to get out of the car. We then pushed through to Lincoln NE where we staid at for the night. We had a very comfortable king bed where I was able to lay and watch friends... Of course made me very happy.

Day2: we woke up at 6:30ish, we woke up later because we wanted to take advantage of free breakfast at the hotel. :) which was... Average. Day 2 was our fun day, first stop was the Kansas city Missouri temple. Which was beautiful. We got lost trying to find it but it was as well worth it pit stop. We then went to St. Louis MI where we saw the gateway arch and the Mississippi River. Both very cool. St. Louis gave us our first taste of extreme humidity. HOT. HOT. HOT there. From then on we went straight to Nashville. Where we had set as our spoiled night at the Hilton with a jetted tub, plasma, and king bed. It was perfect.

Day 3: we slept in until 8. As we went down to pay for a breakfast ticket the hotel actual gave us 2 free tickets. We were thrilled! And it was the best breakfast! We felt so spoiled. After breakfast we went to the Parthenon. A museum inspired by a Greek Parthenon in Greece. The one in Nashville was built in the 1800s. It was very neat, I actually really loved it. I love mythology and there was a lot of that. Mostly broken statues and such but it was a cool experience.  Day 3 was the last day so we pushed hard to get to Charleston as fast as we could. We were so ready to be there... Hours and hours later we finally made it. We were so happy to be there and to do absolutely nothing the next day... Aside from call and set up interviews with potential employees.

Proud to say this was all I brought this time around.

Big boy and Ryan.

This is how I felt the whole way through Nebraska... Nothing.

The temple.

Mississippi River.

Gateway arch.

Pretty park in St. Louis.

Greek Parthenon.

Can you see how small Ryan is compared to the statue? Crazy right?

Tennessee is so pretty. Everyone should go.

4 hours seems like forever when you've already drive 31 hours...

So close!
