Peace Within (1991)

Last night before Ryan and I went to bed we decided to read a conference talk as part of the usual scripture study. I have down loaded on my ipad every conference talk from now to 1972. So we opened it up scrolled down and landed a finger on the ipad and whatever it landed on that was what we were going to read.  We ended up on a conference talk from the April session of 1991 which was a couple months before I was born. It was called Peace Within by Joseph Wirthlin.  It was extremely appropriate for me.  I find that my mind is often cluttered with things that I need to do, up coming events, bills, etc. This talk reminded me how important it is to have peace, and the blessings that peace brings into our lives. "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." (John 14:27) "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." (John 16:33) Reading these scriptures brought me so much comfort and reminded me to let the spirit help concur my burdens and lighten my load. What a powerful message, I have overcome the world, so that you could be of good cheer.  We are so lucky and blessed. Through Christ everything is possible. I plan on working towards having peace at heart, because the stress carried over worldly things isn't worth the lack of rest or peace. I am thankful for the church leadership, and the guidance that they offer to all of us. I am thankful that they are workers in the lords hands and sharing what the lord wants us to hear.  Have peace in your heart, to have a peaceful home. The church is true.
