This was quiet the day- I'd rather not go into detail because most of it was issues with work. However we were lucky enough to have the day off together and hit another one of the local beaches. I loved it! There was so much nature, you could see the fish swimming past you while you stood in the water. As Ryan and I were walking on a sand bar we found an entire sand dollar. I was floored with excitement! I could not believe we found one! In my mind I thought that we found it because of the good carma we earned from our bad morning. As I was running back to our stuff to set it down with everything my sand dollar broke and fell into the ocean, I fell to my hands and knees and recovered what I could. I was DEVISTATED! However- I did recover most of it and I am determined to go back and find another one.
While we were there we also got to experience the life of a southern. An alligator had made his way down from the river and got stuck in the salt water between the beach and sand bar. The police made their way over and were able to contain the situation. I never thought I would be able to say that I've swam with an alligator before! Scary!!
